Winter 2022

Dear Proven Partner,

Advent Greetings from ARDF!

Partnerships are at the core of what we do, and we are so thankful for you - our Proven Partners! We are humbled by your faithful support of our ministry, which in turn allows us to support the ministries of local churches all over the world! We find this steady support for the work of the gospel in Luke 8, reading that the earthly ministry of Christ was funded by a group of faithful women. Read our blog post to see how this humble service flows from the love of Christ and is crucial for the work of the gospel. This is part of our Advent blog series titled Finding Ourselves In Scripture. As we anticipate the Word becoming flesh, we are looking at where we can find ourselves and our partners in the Word of God. Be sure to check our blog in the coming weeks to see other ways we find ourselves in Scripture!

Watch this short video to see how your support of ARDF expands the visions of our partners as they demonstrate the love of Christ in their local neighborhood and beyond. Thank you!

Announcing the The Nehemiah Fund for Development Projects!

We are excited to announce our new Nehemiah Fund, focused on providing support for development projects both large and small! Nehemiah, living in Persia after the Babylonian exile, heard that Jerusalem was in disrepair and disgrace. After prayer and discernment, he examined the situation and gathered the resources he needed to rebuild Jerusalem’s walls. The result was the expansion of the city and the repentance of the people. Along the way, he was able to additionally  minister to the various needs of those around him. In the same way, our partners asses the needs in their communities and work with wisdom for sustainable solutions.

The Nehemiah Fund for Development Projects will enable ARDF to have a steady resource to draw upon as we support local leaders working in their communities. Every year, we receive many requests for development projects that fall outside the scope of our normal grants. We want to be able to fund these small yet creative projects, acknowledging their importance in the life and health of the church and the community. This fund will also allow us to bolster projects approved by our Global Council which may need additional funds due to rising building costs or lack of specific funding.

A grant for new wells in the DRC was one of our small projects! You can read about it on our blog.

You may be thinking that this idea sounds familiar, and you’d be correct! In the past two years, our Joseph Fund for Disaster Relief has had an amazing impact in the way we’ve been able to quickly and efficiently respond to crises. Both are modeled after scriptural examples of faithful service and stewardship, and we strive to be equally faithful with what the Lord has given us and the ways He has called us to serve. Thank you for being a part of this vision of service.

Gratefully,

Emily Misner
Director of Communications

We are continually humbled by the creative ways churches serve those around them! One incredible example is Trinity North Shore, a young Anglican church in Boston. Their priest, Fr. Tim Clayton, curated a wonderful little book of John Donne’s poetry titled Christmas with John Donne. They are selling it as a way to fund their church ministry, and are tithing a percentage of sales to ARDF and other organizations they want to support! You can find copies for sale on Amazon.
