December 2025

Friends,

With just days left to prepare for Christ's birth, it can feel frantic. The gatherings, the cards, the presents, and the schedules can feel so full. I pray you've found time during this avent season to be still and know what makes Christmas so special. Stop and reflect on all the memories you've made with the people you cherish so much and make sure to make more as we close out 2025.

I'm already looking forward to 2026 with anticipation and with thanks. We hope you'll consider joining us on one of the already scheduled mission opportunities in the new year. And, if those don't fit your schedule, feel free to reach out to see what we can do together to serve the Lord. We're still looking for a few churches on the west coast to lock in an opportunity to help rebuild the wildfire affected areas of California.

Next, I'll share with you that we only have about twelve spots remaining for our men's ministry opportunity to serve in Black Mountain, North Carolina ahead of the Christian Men's Conference. We hope everyone within travel distance feels welcome and will consider joining the conference at Lutheridge Conference Center in February.

Finally, we're excited to start rolling out details about this year's family mission trip. Once again we're returning to Black Mountain to serve with Adventures in Missions. The registration for this trip will be just $200 per person if paid prior to December 31st. After that it will go up to $250 per person. This trip fee helps our partner with the costs associated with housing, our meals, and all of the work we will be doing to continue to rebuild in the area. This trip is meant for families to come serve together. That means any combination of kids, grandkids, parents, and grandparents. Let's serve together!

Our hope is to fill all 85 of the spots available to us at the camp during the week leading up to the 4th of July weekend. That means we're also looking for clergy and other church leaders to come lead our worship time with morning and evening prayer. We also hope to be able to offer sacraments during eucharist together. If you're interested in any of that I'd love to hear from you.

A special shout out to Restoration Anglican Church in Arlington, Virgina for having the first person sign up! Who's next?

New Videos from our First Texas Trip!

Last month a team comprised of folks from across 9 different dioceses served together in the Texas Hill country, rebuilding homes in Burnet after the horrific July 4 flooding.

Check out these stories from our awesome volunteers! (And keep your eyes open for some moving testimony videos from some of the people we were privileged to serve!)

ARDF Family Trip In June 2026!

We know it's winter and our hearts and hands are full of snowballs and hot-chocolate, (or at least if you live up north like some of my coworkers...) but cast your mind toward summertime with me for just a little bit.

This June we will have our second ARDF Family Mission Trip!

We had such a blast last time that we decided to do it again! Serving Western North Carolina, this trip is intended for families with children ages 8+. You'll make friends and memories in one week that you'll remember for a lifetime! Here are the details.

Hurricane Helene Rebuild | June 27-July 3
Partner: Adventures in Missions
Base Camp: Black Mountain, NC
Cost: $200 per person if paid by December 31st.*
Ages: Parents, Grandparents, and children/grandchildren ages 8 and up serving together.
(ARDF must have 1:5 ratio of skilled leaders to volunteers)
Trip Limit: 80 people
Register Here!

*ARDF is subsidizing this opportunity to allow more families to serve together. Family Leadership Network (FLI, formerly NGLI) will scholarship additional children above a family of four upon request.

We'll have more details in the new year, but didn't want anyone to miss the special price for early registration! If you register before December 31st, the price is knocked down from $400 $250 per person to $200. This fee covers lodging, meals for a week, as well as transportation to and from the worksite. It's a pretty great deal and we're grateful to our donors and the Family Leadership Network in helping us keep costs affordable as we serve Western North Carolina!

These kids did an awesome job last year!

Psalm 121:1-2
I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
    who made heaven and earth.
