August 2025

Dear friend,

Did you know that there are now over 100 million Anglicans worldwide? I recently read an article with this new data from scholar David Goodhew, and was immediately thankful for the deep relationships we see at ARDF across the globe. In a broken and hurting world, the global Anglican Church is bringing help and hope to those around them.

As an ARDF Advocate, you get to hear about many of these efforts! Thank you for being a part of this global family through your advocacy. I hope you enjoy reading this month's newsletter and seeing the many ways the church is working and how we can be praying.

Supporting CA Wildfire Relief through Baseballs!

For all the baseball fans out there, thanks to the generous donation of one couple, we know of an auction where you can score some pretty impressive signed baseballs. The collection, which includes 2 Babe Ruths, a Lou Gehrig, and a Jimmie Foxx, is up for its final auction! The proceeds are going towards recovery from the California Wildfires.

Take a look for yourself or forward to a friend!

A Chance To Join In!
Church To Church Opportunities

ARDF has several new Church to Church opportunities! Head to our website to learn more about:

  • Spiritual Formation and Trade Skills in Rwanda

  • From Cattle Rustling to Classrooms in Kenya

  • Building Classrooms in Uganda

Each project is a chance to partner with an overseas Anglican Church/Diocese working towards an important development project, and an ACNA congregation that is already supporting their ministry. This is a chance to join in on good work already happening and build fellowship - not only overseas but also within the ACNA! If you or your church is looking for an overseas mission opportunity, these ongoing Church to Church projects are easy ways to get involved!

Last year, ARDF's Church to Church Grant helped St. David's Anglican Church in Idaho form an ongoing relationship with the community of Gihanga, Burundi!

Caring for Children in Guatemala City's Dump

In the heart of Guatemala City, thousands call the city's dump site their home. These families live in extreme poverty, scavenging to survive. Our partners at Mision Desfio minister to them daily. You can read about a project ARDF has helped with here!

They recently sent an update describing the impact that school supplies can have!

"This year, 2025, thanks to the generous support of ARDF, more than 320 children have been helped to attend formal classes while being gifted a new a school backpack —containing all the school supplies they will need for the entire academic year. It was such a joy for all of our team to watch their smiling faces and hear their shouts of joy and laughter upon receiving the backpacks! This was the first time any of them had receives such a present and it has really inspired them in ways that one cannot imagine. They believe that they “have value” and that they are worthy of being invested in and are not just an added burden, or weight, for the parents to have to take care of. These new backpacks have gone a long-way in helping to rid these young hearts of the dark, and shameful, dumpsite within their beautiful young hearts."

Misión Desafío, of the Anglican Church of Guatemala, serves a community of about 510 families who survive off whatever they scavenge from within the Guatemala City landfill. The church offers tutoring and breakfast for 120 to 150 children each day.

Prayer Requests

Prayers for Bunia, DRC

Fighting continues in the DRC, affecting many innocent men, women, and children. Our partner, Rev. Bisoke, shared about recent violence which resulted in over 40 deaths and numerous kidnappings, including children. Please join us in his prayers for peace.

"Please we need your prayers in order God can help Congo to have real peace. I know some of them who were killed, young people who still need life, and some of them were in the Church praying, it is so sad. . . . Please brothers and sisters, we still need your prayers."

Prayers and Update: Israel and Palestine

We continue to pray for those affected by the conflict in Israel, Gaza, and the surrounding regions. You can read the latest information from our partners on our blog. The situation is dire for many. May the Lord be ever working in the hearts of leaders and decision makers, those suffering, fleeing, and mourning, and those watching and praying.

Thank you for your advocacy!

In Christ,
