Shade primary school is expanding, adding a new third grade class and enrolling even more students into their current classrooms.
56 new students will join the school in January 2024! While this is wonderful news, these students often have trouble getting to school on their own.
"The quality of the roads, distance to school, physical disabilities of some students, and unique dangers faced by children with albinism are all key considerations to prioritize the purchase of a third bus. Without transportation, these students will not have access to the services that Shade offers – which not only include school, but also a personalized plan to empower their families and a chance to hear the Gospel!"
- Claire Fedele, Executive Director, US
Shade provides education, advocacy, and outreach for students in Tanzania with albinism. Tanzania has a higher prevalence of albinism, and these students are often marginalized in many ways. Shade’s vision is to provide a safe, unsegregated educational environment where these students can thrive, grow, and encounter the Gospel. Their school has begun recently but is already becoming well known in the community for the excellent education it provides for all of its students. Shade began as a ministry of an Anglican Church in VA, and is an Anglican Global Mission Partner in the ACNA. ARDF is thrilled to collaborate with them on this exciting project!
